Joystick Controls
Control Devices Engineering can provide customised joysticks designed to suit many applications. We can provide handles, button layouts as well as mounting options. We can create one-off devices as well as larger quantities.
The basic mechanical joystick design is based around the Penny and Giles JC6000 joystick base and the “A” type handle. We can create custom switch layout and fit user specified switches. If the design calls for a larger handle head to accommodate more functions, we can design and manufacture the required head in-house.
We can provide 3D models of the design to show our customers what the actual layout will be. We can also build prototype versions of the handle prior to manufacturing large quantities built in our in-house prototyping facility. Naturally the in-house prototyping facility can be used to make one-off or small quantity runs of the final product.

Custom Electronics
When implementing a new or a replacement joystick, care must be take that the device behaves in a particular way. Not only is this important in the mechanical aspect but also the electrical properties of the joystick have to be carefully observed.
Control Devices Engineering is capable of designing electronic interfaces that output the required signal in order to make the implementation of the joystick simple. We are capable of providing outputs such as, Voltage, Current, Serial, USB & CANbus
We can also provide custom circuits and interfaces for specific control application, from simple analogue designs to more complex micro controller versions.

Custom Controls
Control Devices Engineering can also provide complete solution for Man-Machine control interfaces. Currently we have provided these controls to Defence companies. However we see that custom hand controls have a many possible application in applications such as industrial control, marine, leisure and motor-sports. The projects can be as simple as modifying our existing designs to suit the application or we can design the controller from the ground up. We can design and manufacture the enclosures, electronics and software to suit the application.
